In 2007 Cavendish Pre-School won first Prize for Projects - Children under 12.

The Award was presented on 15th November 2007 by Cllr. Mrs Margaret Charlesworth, Mayor of St Edmundsbury

Flowers in Towers

With a break of good weather at the beginning of June we planted up all our Tubs and the Flower Towers which have been placed on the Lower Green. By the time you read this we fully expect that we will have a blaze of colour!!

With the theft of so many square planters in 2006 & 2007 we are using heavy wooden half barrel tubs which we hope are sufficiently heavy to remain in place. These extra purchases have meant we have had to curtail the number of planters we can have in the village.

We hope everyone enjoys this summer's planting.

On 17th July the judges from Anglia in Bloom visited the village. They liked the Flower Towers. They were impressed with the Pre-School garden and in particular the grounds and childrens planting at our Primary School.

We had a damp day for the judges visit this year. However the tubs were all looking healthy and colourful.

SUMMER 2008

From Early June until late September we will display various planters with their colourful floral displays throughout the village.

This year we are aiming to have a colourful and eyecatching display consisting of Balcon Geraniums, Senecio Cinirio Silver Dust and for trailing; Helichrysum Gold,

The main impactful floral displays will be around the Lower Green and further east along the Village Main Road.

OUR WATERERS

Without the enthusiastic assistance of our team of volunteer waterers we could not provide the colourful displays we do.

CAVENDISH IN COLOUR

We were established in 2003 to provide planting throughout Cavendish.

We regularly enter the ANGLIA IN BLOOM competition and in recent years have attained 'Silver'.

Our planting has been chosen to provide maximum colourful impact by mid July and to continue to provide pleasure over the ensuing summer months.

The Green has been entered again as
"Best Open Space"a title we have won in the past.

Each year the Village primary Schoolchildren grow plants and they have also won certificates of merit.
